Polish President Andrzej Duda arrived in Beijing Saturday night to begin a five-day state visit to China. During the visit, he will hold talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping to map out the future development of China-Poland relations, exchange views on common concerns, and attend the signing ceremony of cooperation documents.
This visit follows previous high-level meetings, including Xi's 2016 state visit to Poland and Duda's participation in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics opening ceremony. Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Zhao Leji, Chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, will also hold separate meetings with President Duda during his stay.
In addition to diplomatic discussions, President Duda is set to attend the 15th World Economic Forum Annual Meeting of the New Champions, also known as Summer Davos, in Dalian on June 25.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Poland. Former Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski highlighted that Poland was among the earliest nations to recognize the People's Republic of China and noted the prosperous development of bilateral relations in a mutually beneficial direction. Reflecting on China's dynamic market and significant changes, Komorowski emphasized the appeal and growth of China as a global economic powerhouse.
