China Urges U.S. to Lift Unilateral Sanctions on Venezuela

In a strong stance against international interference, the Chinese mainland has called on the United States to abolish its unilateral sanctions on Venezuela. During a regular press briefing, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian highlighted China’s opposition to the U.S.'s actions, emphasizing the importance of respecting Venezuela’s internal affairs.

The controversy centers around the U.S. authorities' takeover of Citgo Petroleum Corporation, a subsidiary of the state-owned PDVSA. This move has been condemned by the Venezuelan government as a blatant act of aggression, further straining relations between the two nations.

Lin Jian reiterated China's commitment to upholding the UN Charter and international norms, criticizing the long-arm jurisdiction and illegal sanctions imposed by the United States. He urged the U.S. to cease its interference and adopt policies that promote peace, stability, and development in Venezuela and beyond.

This development highlights the ongoing tensions in international politics, where major powers like China and the United States often find themselves at odds over issues of sovereignty and economic control. For young global citizens and business enthusiasts, understanding these dynamics is crucial as they navigate a rapidly changing global landscape.
