Intl Groups Demand U.S. Remove Cuba from Terrorism List

The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and the Group of 77 and China have jointly called for the immediate removal of Cuba from the United States' list of state sponsors of terrorism.

The declaration highlights the unjust inclusion of Cuba, labeling it as a pretext for imposing unilateral sanctions that have led to an unprecedented economic, commercial, and financial blockade against the Cuban population.

Furthermore, the statement demands an end to the \"unilateral coercive measures\" targeting the Cuban people, emphasizing that these actions have hindered comprehensive development in Cuba for over six decades.

Founded in 1961, the Non-Aligned Movement comprises 121 member countries, with China joining as an observer in 1992. The Group of 77, established in 1964, is an intergovernmental organization of more than 130 developing countries aimed at enhancing solidarity and cooperation to promote economic and social development.

The joint call underscores the need for the U.S. government to lift the longstanding sanctions, advocating for a more collaborative and supportive approach to foster growth and stability in Cuba.
