Premier Li reflected on the long-standing exchanges between China and Australia, asserting that the friendship between the two peoples continues to grow stronger. He recalled the historic 2014 visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping to Australia, which marked the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

Since 2014, Premier Li noted, exchanges and cooperation across various fields have been accelerating and evolving, with mutual benefit and win-win cooperation remaining the cornerstone of bilateral ties. He praised Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese's successful visit to China last year, which helped realign bilateral relations after a period of challenges.

Highlighting the importance of mutual respect and seeking common ground, Premier Li emphasized that these principles are essential for the continued development of China-Australia relations. During his visit, Premier Li and Prime Minister Albanese will co-chair the ninth China-Australia Annual Leaders' Meeting and participate in a China-Australia CEO Roundtable meeting.

This visit also marks the 10th anniversary of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Australia. Premier Li expressed his eagerness for in-depth exchanges with Australian leaders and community members to discuss China-Australia relations and address common concerns, aiming to promote cooperation, development, and friendship.

Upon his arrival, Premier Li was warmly welcomed by Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong and South Australia's Premier Peter Malinauskas. Following his time in Australia, Premier Li will continue his three-nation tour with visits to Malaysia.
