GERB-UDF Coalition Clinches Victory in Bulgaria’s Early Elections

The GERB Party and Union of Democratic Forces (GERB-UDF) coalition emerged victorious in Bulgaria's early parliamentary elections, according to the Central Election Commission (CEC) results announced Thursday evening.

Securing 68 out of 240 seats in the National Assembly, the GERB-UDF coalition has positioned itself as the leading force in the newly formed legislature. Trailing in second place, the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) garnered 47 seats, reflecting significant support from voters across the country.

Under Bulgaria's Constitution, the president is now tasked with appointing a prime minister-designate from the largest parliamentary group to form a new government. This pivotal decision will shape the country's political landscape and influence its future policies.

The election results highlight a dynamic shift in Bulgaria's political arena, with the GERB-UDF coalition aiming to address key issues such as economic growth, regional stability, and social reforms. As the coalition prepares to form a government, stakeholders and citizens alike are closely watching how these changes will impact Bulgaria's role on the global stage.
