The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government has taken action by revoking the passports of six individuals, including Law Kwun-chung, who reside in the United Kingdom. These individuals are wanted for charges such as splitting the state and colluding with foreign states.
In response, the Chinese Foreign Ministry has deemed the move \"justified and lawful,\" stating that it is essential for safeguarding national security. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian emphasized that these measures are in accordance with the National Security Ordinance and serve to uphold the rule of law in Hong Kong.
Lin further explained that Law Kwun-chung and the other individuals have been involved in activities against China and Hong Kong, posing serious threats to national security and undermining the fundamental interests of Hong Kong. These actions also challenge the integrity of the \"One Country, Two Systems\" framework.
\"Hong Kong affairs are purely China's internal affairs and brook no interference from any external forces,\" Lin asserted, highlighting China's stance on the matter.
