China and U.S. Strengthen Communication on Drug Control and Law Enforcement

In a significant step towards enhancing international security, China and the United States have agreed to maintain continuous communication on drug control and law enforcement cooperation. This commitment was solidified during a video meeting on Thursday between Chinese State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong and U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

Wang emphasized the importance of upholding the consensus reached by the two heads of state, advocating for mutual respect, effective management of differences, and the promotion of collaborative efforts. He highlighted that deepening cooperation in areas such as drug control, the repatriation of illegal immigrants, and combating transnational crime is crucial for achieving more substantial results in law enforcement.

The discussions underscored the need for both nations to address shared challenges with a unified approach. Wang stressed that the U.S. should prioritize China’s concerns and demonstrate sincerity through concrete actions to advance their cooperative agenda. This renewed commitment reflects a broader effort to strengthen bilateral relations and tackle global issues that transcend national borders.
