China Supports Cuba Against US Blockade, Fortifying Strategic Partnership

In a move reinforcing their longstanding alliance, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Cuba's Special Envoy Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla in Beijing on Thursday to discuss the ongoing US blockade against Cuba. Wang Yi firmly voiced China's opposition to the blockade, emphasizing the strong friendship and shared vision between the two nations.

The Chinese premier highlighted the mutual trust and significant consensus reached by China and Cuba to build a community with a shared future, aiming to promote world socialism and maintain global peace. He praised Cuba's resilience and commitment to defending its sovereignty against foreign interference, a stance that aligns with China's own principles on the international stage.

Rodriguez expressed gratitude for China's unwavering support in helping Cuba withstand economic challenges posed by the US blockade. He reaffirmed Cuba's dedication to the one-China principle and expressed eagerness to collaborate on initiatives such as the Belt and Road Initiative. Furthermore, both parties discussed enhancing China-Latin America cooperation and addressing other mutual concerns.
