Highlighting the commitment of the Asia-Pacific region, Dong emphasized the region's dedication to harmony, peace, and mutual support. He called for harnessing \"Asian wisdom\" to build consensus, seek common ground, and set aside differences in pursuit of collective security.
China expressed its willingness to collaborate with all parties to protect legitimate security interests, build a more just and equitable international order, and strengthen regional security architectures. This includes advancing open and substantive defense cooperation, setting examples in maritime security, and enhancing security governance in emerging areas.
Addressing the South China Sea, Dong noted the region's current stability and urged concerned parties to engage in dialogue and consultation to resolve differences. He also reaffirmed China's stance against \"Taiwan independence,\" pledging decisive actions to prevent any moves towards it.
Throughout the dialogue, Dong engaged with senior defense officials from nations including the United States, Canada, Thailand, Japan, Australia, France, Cambodia, and New Zealand. Additionally, he held discussions with the president of the International Committee of the Red Cross and the high representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, underscoring China's commitment to collaborative security efforts.
