China Expands High-Quality Imports from Comoros to Boost Belt and Road Cooperation

In a significant move to bolster international trade and cooperation, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi announced that China will increase imports of high-quality products from Comoros. This declaration was made during discussions with Comorian Foreign Minister Dhoihir Dhoulkamal at the 10th ministerial conference of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum.

Minister Wang expressed gratitude for Comoros' steadfast support of China's core interests and emphasized China's respect for Comorian sovereignty, independence, and national traditions. He highlighted China's commitment to strengthening bilateral exchanges across various sectors, including poverty alleviation, education, medical care, and more. Central to this collaboration is the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), which aims to enhance global connectivity and foster economic development.

Comorian Foreign Minister Dhoulkamal reaffirmed Comoros' support for China's territorial sovereignty and recognition of Taiwan as part of China. He praised the Belt and Road Initiative for its role in promoting common development among Arab and African nations and reiterated Comoros' dedication to active participation in the initiative. Additionally, he thanked China for supporting Comoros' chairmanship of the African Union and committed to further advancing Africa-China cooperation.

This strategic partnership underscores the growing ties between China and Comoros, aligning both nations towards shared economic growth and sustainable development goals under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
