At the 10th ministerial conference of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum (CASCF) in Beijing, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi announced the introduction of five cooperation frameworks aimed at elevating China-Arab relations into a new era.
In his keynote speech, Wang emphasized China's commitment to fostering a China-Arab community with a shared future. Chinese President Xi Jinping echoed this sentiment, outlining the five frameworks designed to enhance collaboration across various sectors.
The proposed frameworks include:
- Dynamic Innovation: Encouraging joint ventures in technology and research to drive innovation.
- Investment and Finance: Expanding financial cooperation to support economic growth and development.
- Energy Cooperation: Strengthening partnerships in the energy sector to ensure sustainable and reliable energy sources.
- Economic and Trade Ties: Balancing economic exchanges to achieve mutually beneficial trade relationships.
- People-to-People Exchanges: Promoting cultural and educational exchanges to deepen mutual understanding.
Furthermore, Xi announced that China will host the second China-Arab States Summit in 2026, marking a significant milestone in bilateral relations. Wang Yi highlighted the importance of building strategic mutual trust, enhancing pragmatic cooperation, and maintaining the correct direction of global governance through strengthened international collaboration.
The conference, co-chaired by Mauritanian Foreign Minister Mohamed Salem Ould Merzouk and Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, saw participation from foreign ministers and representatives of various Arab states, all committed to advancing the China-Arab partnership.
