In Beijing on Wednesday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi engaged in discussions with Mauritania's Foreign Minister Mohamed Salem Ould Merzouk during the 10th ministerial meeting of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum.
Wang Yi emphasized China's commitment to supporting Mauritania's development path tailored to its national conditions and reiterated opposition to external interference in Mauritania's internal affairs. He assured that China will continue to provide assistance for Mauritania's economic and social development and collaborate closely to consolidate and expand China-Arab collective cooperation.
Minister Merzouk highlighted Mauritania's firm adherence to the one-China principle and expressed readiness to work with China to advance the continuous development of Arab-China and Africa-China relations. He also emphasized the mutual goal of building a community with a shared future for humanity.
