In a significant move to bolster international cooperation, China and Arab states adopted a series of outcome documents at the 10th China-Arab States Cooperation Forum (CASCF) ministerial conference held in Beijing on Thursday.
The conference saw the adoption of the Beijing Declaration, which highlights the progress made since the first China-Arab States Summit and outlines a practical path towards building a China-Arab community with a shared future. This declaration reaffirms the commitment of both sides to support each other on core interests, enhance pragmatic cooperation, and address pressing global issues such as political resolutions, dialogue among civilizations, global governance, counter-terrorism, human rights, artificial intelligence, and climate change.
Additionally, the CASCF introduced an execution plan for 2024-2026, detailing strategies for strengthening the forum mechanism over the next two years and promoting bilateral and multilateral cooperation across various sectors including politics, economy and trade, investment, finance, infrastructure, resources and environment, cultural exchange, aerospace, education, and health.
A joint statement was also issued, expressing deep concern over the ongoing conflict in Gaza and the resulting humanitarian crisis. China and Arab states emphasized their support for a ceasefire, securing humanitarian aid, opposing the forced displacement of Palestinian people, backing Palestine's full membership in the United Nations, and working towards an early resolution based on the two-state solution.
Throughout the conference, China signed multiple bilateral and multilateral cooperation agreements with participating countries and the General Secretariat of the Arab League, further cementing the growing ties between China and the Arab region.
