Chinese and Equatorial Guinean First Ladies Strengthen Ties on Women’s Empowerment

In a gesture of deepening friendship, Peng Liyuan, wife of Chinese premier Xi Jinping, engaged in an insightful conversation with Equatorial Guinean First Lady Constancia Mangue de Obiang over tea in Beijing on Tuesday.

Constancia accompanied President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea on his state visit to China. During their meeting, Peng emphasized the strong partnership between China and Equatorial Guinea, highlighting mutual support in fostering women’s rights and interests.

Peng expressed her hope for increased exchanges and cooperation between the two nations, aiming to jointly enhance education and public health services for the benefit of both peoples. Constancia praised China’s long-term dedication to supporting women and children in African countries, including Equatorial Guinea, noting the significant contributions to health and well-being.

The First Ladies underscored the importance of continuing to build on their countries' collaborative efforts, looking forward to further strengthening ties to promote friendship and shared growth.
