Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi highlighted the importance of upholding basic international relations principles, notably non-interference in each other's internal affairs, to foster global development.
Wang Yi, a prominent member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made these remarks during a high-level meeting with Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein. The meeting took place in Beijing as Hussein attended the 10th Ministerial Conference of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum.
Highlighting the historical ties, Wang noted that Iraq is among the first Arab states to establish diplomatic relations with China. He underscored China's unwavering support for Iraq in maintaining its national sovereignty, security, unity, and territorial integrity.
Further addressing the collaboration, Wang Yi emphasized that China stands by the Iraqi government in its efforts to develop the nation's economy, enhance the quality of life for its people, and combat terrorism.
