Ukraine and Belgium Forge €977 Million Security Pact in Brussels

In a significant move to bolster Ukraine's defense capabilities, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo signed a comprehensive security pact in Brussels on Tuesday.

The agreement outlines at least 977 million euros in Belgian military aid to Ukraine for this year, as announced by Zelenskyy in a recent social media post. Beyond immediate assistance, Belgium has committed to supporting Ukraine over the next decade, ensuring sustained backing amid ongoing tensions.

One of the standout elements of the pact is the provision of 30 F-16 fighter jets, which are slated for delivery to Ukraine by 2028. This addition is expected to significantly enhance Ukraine's air defense capabilities, providing a strategic advantage in maintaining sovereignty and security.

The partnership between Ukraine and Belgium underscores the growing international support for Ukraine, reflecting a broader commitment among European nations to ensure stability and peace in the region.
