China Seeks to Boost Arab Relations at 10th Cooperation Forum in Beijing

In a significant move to deepen international ties, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi announced on Tuesday China’s commitment to enhancing relations with Arab nations. Speaking at a meeting with Sudanese Foreign Minister Hussein Awad, Wang emphasized the importance of the upcoming 10th Ministerial Conference of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum, scheduled to open on May 30 in Beijing.

Marking the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Sudan, Wang reaffirmed China’s dedication to fostering friendly ties. He highlighted support for Sudan in maintaining its national sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, as well as in achieving domestic peace and stability.

Wang also called on the international community to create favorable conditions for resolving the Sudan issue, underscoring China’s role in advocating for peaceful solutions. Additionally, he expressed appreciation for Sudan’s active participation in the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum and outlined China’s readiness to collaborate with African nations, including Sudan, in hosting this year’s Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).

During the discussions, Foreign Minister Hussein Awad praised China’s developmental achievements and thanked Beijing for its robust support of Sudan’s growth. He affirmed Sudan’s adherence to the one-China principle and its unwavering support for China on key issues. Awad emphasized Sudan’s commitment to deepening practical cooperation with China within the frameworks of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum and FOCAC.

The collaborative efforts highlighted during the conference aim to build a high-level China-Africa community with a shared future, reinforcing the strong ties between China and its Arab partners.
