China, Equatorial Guinea Strengthen Ties with Strategic Partnership

In a significant move to bolster international relations, China and Equatorial Guinea have elevated their bilateral ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation. The announcement was made on Tuesday during high-level talks in Beijing between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Equatorial Guinea’s President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.

President Xi emphasized the enduring friendship and strong partnership between the two nations, highlighting the high level of political mutual trust that underpins their relationship. \"Since establishing diplomatic ties over half a century ago, China and Equatorial Guinea have supported each other through thick and thin, firmly backing each other on issues central to our national interests and major concerns,\" Xi stated.

With the enhancement of their ties, both countries aim to align their cooperation with their fundamental interests and mutual aspirations. President Xi affirmed China’s steadfast support for Equatorial Guinea’s sovereignty and independence, opposing foreign interference, and championing its right to pursue its own development path.

Looking ahead, China is eager to leverage this new phase of partnership to deepen friendly exchanges and share experiences in reform, development, and poverty alleviation. This, Xi believes, will inject lasting momentum into the time-honored friendship between China and Equatorial Guinea, paving the way for a prosperous and collaborative future.
