China and Brazil Strengthen Strategic BRICS Partnership

In a significant move within the BRICS alliance, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi highlighted the deepening ties between China and Brazil, describing their shared interests as the most valuable strategic asset.

Wang emphasized that as leading members of the Global South and emerging economies, China and Brazil's relationship extends beyond bilateral cooperation, holding substantial strategic and global importance. He noted the absence of geopolitical disputes and the alignment of their stances on major international and regional issues.

During his meeting with Special Advisor to the President of Brazil Celso Amorim in Beijing, Wang Yi expressed satisfaction with the collective rise of countries represented by China and Brazil, advocating for a more balanced and reasonable global power structure.

Celso Amorim echoed these sentiments, stating that the China-Brazil relationship transcends mere bilateral boundaries and is of significant strategic value. He affirmed Brazil's commitment to enhancing communication with China, expanding cooperation in various sectors, increasing trade and investment, and exploring new areas such as artificial intelligence and the digital economy.

The two leaders also discussed the ongoing Ukraine crisis, jointly issuing a document that outlines their consensus on the political resolution of the conflict. They agreed that dialogue and negotiation are essential for resolving the crisis and urged all parties to facilitate the resumption of direct talks.
