China is set to expand its economic and trade cooperation with Kazakhstan, as announced by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi during his meeting with Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Murat Nurtleu in Astana.
Wang, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, expressed China's intention to reach a consensus on a new bilateral investment treaty in the near future. He emphasized the importance of creating a favorable business environment in Kazakhstan to encourage Chinese enterprises to invest and operate within the country.
The discussions highlighted key areas of collaboration, including the oil and gas sectors, enhancing connectivity, and fostering cooperation in emerging industries. China aims to enhance the efficiency and quality of connectivity between the two nations while expanding cooperation in new quality productive forces.
In addition to economic ties, Wang underscored China's support for expanding tourism cooperation and strengthening people-to-people exchanges between the two countries. This initiative aims to deepen cultural and social connections, fostering a stronger bilateral relationship.
Murat Nurtleu echoed these sentiments, stating that Kazakhstan is committed to promoting the rapid development of bilateral relations based on good-neighborliness and mutual respect. He highlighted the desire to expand pragmatic cooperation across various fields, including the economy, trade, agriculture, and tourism, while also deepening people-to-people exchanges.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to the one-China principle, laying a solid foundation for continued and enhanced cooperation between China and Kazakhstan.
