The political landscape surrounding Taiwan remains unchanged, with both sides of the Taiwan Strait firmly belonging to one China, according to a statement by Wang Wenbin, a spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, on Monday.
Wang emphasized that the one-China principle is widely recognized by the international community and aligns with the fundamental norms of international relations. He further stated that this principle serves as the political foundation for China’s global relations.
He highlighted that the vast majority of countries and international organizations support China’s stance against 'Taiwan independence' separatist activities and endorse efforts towards national reunification.
Wang criticized certain politicians from a few countries for engaging in political manipulation and 'personal shows' on Taiwan-related issues, accusing them of interfering in China's internal affairs and violating the one-China principle. He assured that China would take all necessary measures to safeguard its national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The spokesperson affirmed that the historical trend toward reunification is unstoppable and that 'Taiwan independence' is destined to fail. 'The day will come when China is completely reunified,' Wang concluded.
