China and Tajikistan Enhance Pragmatic Cooperation for Economic Growth

China and Tajikistan are strengthening their partnership, aiming to boost economic growth and foster deeper cooperation across multiple sectors. During an official visit to Dushanbe, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with his Tajik counterpart, Sirojiddin Muhriddin, to discuss ways to elevate their pragmatic collaboration.

Wang Yi emphasized China’s commitment to assisting Tajikistan in accelerating industrialization and enhancing socio-economic development. Highlighting the complementary strengths of both nations, he outlined plans to increase trade volumes, expand mining resources cooperation, and explore emerging areas such as new energy and green transition.

The Chinese Foreign Minister also expressed China's support for Chinese-funded enterprises to invest in Tajikistan, hoping for a favorable business environment that will facilitate these investments. Both leaders reaffirmed their mutual support in international affairs, aiming to safeguard their strategic interests and uphold international justice.

Tajik Foreign Minister Muhriddin echoed this commitment, stating that Tajikistan is ready to collaborate with China across various sectors. He affirmed Tajikistan’s adherence to the one-China principle and expressed willingness to jointly implement the Global Security Initiative, addressing common security challenges. Additionally, Muhriddin highlighted the importance of coordination within the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the China-Central Asia mechanism.
