On the 76th anniversary of Palestinian Nakba Day, China has reiterated its commitment to facilitating a comprehensive, just, and sustainable resolution to the Palestinian issue. The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced on Wednesday that it stands ready to collaborate with the international community to achieve peace.
Wang Wenbin, spokesperson for the ministry, highlighted the enduring impact of the 1948 Arab-Israeli war, noting that over half of the Palestinian population was displaced during the conflict. \"Today, 76 years later, the historical injustice suffered by the Palestinian people not only hasn't been corrected but has been further exacerbated,\" Wang stated.
Amid ongoing tensions, with nearly 450,000 Palestinians fleeing Rafah as Israel intensifies its operations in southern Gaza, China emphasized its opposition to the expansion of the conflict and the collective punishment of Gaza's residents. The ministry expressed support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with east Jerusalem as its capital and advocated for Palestine's full membership in the United Nations.
China aims to work alongside global partners to realize peaceful coexistence between Israelis and Palestinians, fostering harmonious relations between Arab and Jewish communities.
