Chad Declares Interim President Deby Winner of May Presidential Election

In a decisive outcome, Chad's interim President Mahamat Idriss Deby has been declared the winner of the May 6 presidential election, securing over 61% of the vote according to provisional results from the National Election Management Agency.

Opposition frontrunner and prime minister, Succes Masra, garnered 18.53% of the vote, as announced by Ahmed Bartichet, the chief of the National Election Management Agency.
