Chinese President Xi Jinping left Beijing on Sunday, embarking on a significant diplomatic tour across Europe. His state visits to France, Serbia, and Hungary mark a strategic move to bolster China’s ties with key European nations.
In France, Xi is set to meet with President Emmanuel Macron to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation within the China-European Union framework. The discussions are expected to cover trade, technology, and addressing global challenges such as climate change.
Continuing his journey, President Xi will engage with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić. The talks will focus on expanding economic partnerships, investing in infrastructure projects, and fostering mutual growth between China and Serbia.
Finally, in Hungary, Xi will converse with President Tamas Sulyok and Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. The agenda includes deepening economic collaborations, exploring opportunities in technology and innovation, and addressing regional security concerns.
Lin Jian, a spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry, emphasized at a press briefing on April 29 that these visits aim to facilitate in-depth exchanges on bilateral ties and address international and regional issues of common concern.
