China is playing a pivotal role in fostering intra-Palestinian reconciliation, as representatives from the Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah) and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) engaged in productive talks in Beijing.
Invited by the Chinese mainland, Fatah and Hamas leaders visited Beijing for in-depth and candid discussions aimed at promoting unity within Palestine. The talks advanced to outlining next steps, according to a spokesperson from the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
During a regular press briefing, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian confirmed the progress made, highlighting that both parties have shown a strong political will to achieve reconciliation through continued dialogue and consultation.
\"They agreed to continue this dialogue process and strive for the early realization of Palestinian unity,\" Lin stated. He also acknowledged the appreciation from both sides for China's unwavering support of the Palestinian cause to restore legitimate national rights.
Lin Jian further expressed gratitude for China's efforts in promoting internal unity within Palestine and noted that an agreement was reached on the next phase of the dialogue.
