The 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) convened its 18th Chairperson's Council meeting in Beijing on Monday, marking a significant step in national policy discussions.
Presiding over the meeting was Wang Huning, a prominent member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the CPPCC National Committee. In his speech, Wang emphasized the pivotal role of the western region in China's overarching goals of reform, development, and stability.
Wang advocated for comprehensive research and active consultation to drive the large-scale development of the western region in the new era. His address underscored the necessity of leveraging the region's potential to contribute to national progress.
Additionally, Wang called on political advisors to rigorously implement CPC discipline education and uphold strict Party self-governance within the national political advisory body. This move aims to reinforce the integrity and effectiveness of the CPPCC in its advisory capacity.
The meeting also determined that the Standing Committee of the 14th CPPCC National Committee will hold its seventh session from June 4 to 6. Furthermore, a document outlining study and research activities for members of the Chairperson's Council was reviewed and approved, setting the stage for continued focus on strategic regional development.
