In a significant display of international collaboration, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Bolivian Foreign Minister Celinda Sosa Lunda in Beijing from April 28 to 30. The leaders underscored the importance of safeguarding the common interests of the Global South, signaling a robust commitment to mutual growth and strategic alignment.
Wang Yi, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, emphasized that the consolidation and development of the China-Bolivia strategic partnership is a cornerstone policy of the Chinese government. He highlighted that the enduring friendly ties between the two nations have been instrumental in promoting Bolivia's development, revitalization, and industrialization.
Looking ahead, the upcoming 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Bolivia presents an opportunity to elevate the strategic partnership to new heights. Wang expressed China's willingness to collaborate closely with Bolivia, leveraging this milestone to strengthen their alliance further.
During their discussions, both ministers explored expanding cooperation into emerging sectors such as the digital economy, plateau agriculture, information and communication, and green development. By synergizing their development strategies, China and Bolivia aim to foster innovation and sustainable growth, reinforcing their roles within the Global South.
