During a research trip to southwest China's Guizhou Province on Wednesday, Chinese Premier Li Qiang emphasized the importance of consolidating and expanding the country's accomplishments in poverty alleviation.
As a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, Premier Li visited several key locations, including a residential community in Kaili City, an industrial demonstration park in Majiang County, and a vocational school in Taijiang County.
In his remarks, Premier Li called for ongoing government support to ensure that the progress made in reducing poverty is maintained and that a large-scale return to poverty is prevented.
