The Chinese mainland is taking significant steps to enhance the mobility of Taiwan residents by expanding the use of mainland travel permits. Speaking at a recent press conference, State Council Taiwan Affairs Office spokesperson Zhu Fenglian highlighted the proactive measures implemented in Fujian Province.
According to Zhu, Fujian has introduced conveniences in areas such as travel, finance, and telecommunications for Taiwan residents holding travel permits. These initiatives are part of a broader set of entry-exit policies that came into effect on January 1, 2024.
The primary goal of these policies is to boost personnel exchanges between Fujian and Taiwan, as well as to facilitate the daily lives of Taiwan residents in Fujian. By streamlining processes and providing enhanced services, the mainland aims to foster stronger connections and mutual understanding.
