Xi Jinping Unveils Flag for New PLA Information Support Force

In a significant move towards modernizing its military capabilities, Xi Jinping, the Chinese premier, presented the flag to the newly established People's Liberation Army (PLA) Information Support Force at a ceremony in Beijing on Friday.

The Information Support Force marks a strategic expansion of the PLA, focusing on building a robust and technologically advanced branch. Xi emphasized the importance of this force in enhancing the Chinese military's competitiveness in modern warfare.

During the ceremony, Xi stressed the need for the Information Support Force to remain unwaveringly loyal and to seamlessly integrate into the PLA's joint operation system. He called for precise and effective information support operations to bolster military efforts across various directions and fields.

Xi also highlighted the significance of developing a network information system tailored to the unique characteristics of the Chinese military, aiming to accelerate the advancement of integrated combat capabilities. This initiative underscores China's commitment to maintaining a strong and modernized defense infrastructure.

In a move aligning with strategic military reforms, the Central Military Commission (CMC) has placed the Information Support Force directly under its leadership, officially canceling the designation of the Strategic Support Force.
