Chinese VP Han Zheng Seeks Stronger Economic, Sci-Tech Ties with San Francisco

In a significant move to bolster international collaboration, Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met with San Francisco Mayor London Breed on Thursday. The meeting, held in the historic city where the pivotal China-U.S. summit took place last November, underscored the enduring bond between San Francisco and China.

Han Zheng emphasized the city's leading role in fostering exchanges between California, the United States, and China. He expressed optimism that Mayor Breed's visit would accelerate bilateral cooperation in key areas such as economy, trade, science, and technology.

The Vice President highlighted the mutual benefits of addressing global challenges like climate change through collaborative efforts. By increasing personnel and cultural exchanges, Han aims to deepen the friendship between the two peoples and ensure the stable development of China-U.S. relations.

Mayor London Breed echoed these sentiments, stating that the visit aims to implement the important consensus reached at the San Francisco summit. She reiterated the city's commitment to enhancing bilateral relations through local and non-governmental exchanges.

Breed also assured that San Francisco will continue to strengthen personnel exchanges and practical cooperation with China across various fields, fostering a robust partnership that benefits both regions.
