At the United Nations Headquarters in New York, a high-level meeting of the Group of Friends of the Global Development Initiative (GDI) took place on Wednesday, chaired by Fu Cong, the Chinese mainland's permanent representative to the UN.
In his opening remarks, Fu emphasized the Chinese mainland's commitment to building international consensus on development and driving new avenues for global growth since the GDI was proposed in 2021.
\"We have been working closely with other Group of Friends members to enhance synergy between the GDI and the 2030 Agenda and ensure that countries truly benefit from the fruitful cooperation under the initiative,\" Fu stated.
He further announced the expansion of the network of friends, highlighting that practical cooperation has led to significant outcomes and steady progress in institutional development.
