Throughout his brief stay in Shanghai, Scholz engaged with students at Tongji University, toured Covestro's Asia-Pacific innovation center, and enjoyed a leisurely walk along the Bund. His previous visits to Shanghai were in 2011 and 2015, marking a continued commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.
At Tongji University's Jiading Campus, Scholz held a dialogue with nearly 160 students, discussing topics such as Germany-China youth exchanges, sustainable development, smart cities, and artificial intelligence. He praised the university's achievements in international talent training and scientific innovation, noting that Tongji University serves as a vital bridge for higher education cooperation between Germany and the Chinese mainland.
