China Urges Immediate Ceasefire in Gaza Conflict

China has reaffirmed its commitment to playing a constructive role in resolving the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, urging all parties involved in the Gaza conflict to immediately ceasefire.

Mao Ning, spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, made these remarks during a press conference following a phone conversation between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

During the discussion, Wang Yi strongly condemned the recent attack on the Iranian embassy in Syria, emphasizing the inviolability of diplomatic institutions and the importance of respecting the sovereignty of Iran and Syria.

The escalation is seen as a spillover from the earlier Gaza conflict, and China stresses the urgent need to de-escalate tensions and restore peace in the region.

China has called on all conflicting parties to implement UN Security Council Resolution 2728, which demands an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, aiming to halt the humanitarian crisis and promote stability.

With its ongoing efforts, China seeks to contribute significantly to cooling down the volatile situation in the Middle East.
