China's top legislator Zhao Leji met with Choe Ryong Hae, a senior official from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), in Pyongyang on Thursday. This meeting marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and the DPRK.
Zhao, chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee and a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, emphasized China's commitment to working with the DPRK during the \"China-DPRK Friendship Year.\" He highlighted the importance of maintaining close high-level exchanges, deepening mutually beneficial cooperation, and promoting people-to-people and cultural exchanges to further develop bilateral relations.
Choe Ryong Hae expressed the DPRK's willingness to deepen cooperation with China across various areas, aiming for the continuous development of their partnership. He hailed the longstanding friendship between the two nations and reiterated the DPRK's commitment to enhancing exchanges and cooperation.
The two officials also exchanged views on international and regional affairs, including the situation on the Korean Peninsula. Their discussions reflect the ongoing efforts to strengthen legislative exchanges and promote stability and collaboration in the region.
