China and Vietnam Seek New Growth Avenues in Bilateral Cooperation

In a significant move to bolster their bilateral ties, Wang Yi, co-chair of the China-Vietnam Steering Committee for Bilateral Cooperation, emphasized China’s commitment to fostering new growth points in cooperation with Vietnam. Speaking on Monday in Beijing, Wang highlighted the importance of strengthening people-to-people and cultural exchanges, effectively managing differences, and solidifying the public opinion and social foundation supporting the friendship between the two nations.

Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang, the other co-chair of the committee. During their discussions, Wang reiterated China’s readiness to deepen collaboration in key areas such as trade, investment, connectivity, technology, and innovation. This aligns with the vision of building a community with a shared future, a strategic initiative agreed upon by both countries last December.

The collaborative framework established aims to elevate the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between China and Vietnam to unprecedented levels. By leveraging the steering committee’s coordinating role, both nations aspire to create a robust foundation for sustained economic and cultural growth.

Echoing Wang’s sentiments, Tran Luu Quang expressed Vietnam’s eagerness to expand communication, enhance mutual understanding, and strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation. This cooperative spirit is set to drive mutual benefits and achieve win-win outcomes for both countries. Tran Luu Quang is currently in China accompanying Vuong Dinh Hue, Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam, on his visit from April 7 to 12.
