Mini Three Links Anticipate 11,000+ Trips During Qingming Festival

The upcoming Qingming Festival, falling on April 4 this year, is set to witness a surge in travel between the Chinese mainland and the Taiwan region. More than 11,000 inbound and outbound passenger trips are expected under the \"mini three links\" arrangement, as reported by the Xiamen General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection.

The \"mini three links,\" established on January 1, 2001, facilitate direct trade, postal, and transport services between the mainland's Fujian Province and the Taiwan region's Kinmen and Matsu islands. Starting April 1, passenger routes have expanded significantly to accommodate the festival's travel rush.

Specifically, the passenger route between Fuzhou and Matsu has doubled from four to eight trips per day. Additionally, services from Quanzhou City to Kinmen have increased to one round trip daily starting Monday. This expansion aims to manage the expected 25% rise in daily passenger flow compared to March.

During the festival, travelers at Fujian ports will primarily return to their hometowns to visit relatives, pay tribute to ancestors, and engage in leisure travel. The enhanced \"mini three links\" services ensure a smooth and efficient travel experience for those celebrating Qingming Festival.
