The Chinese mainland and Cambodia are deepening their military cooperation, marking a new chapter in their longstanding friendship. On Monday in Beijing, Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun met with Mao Sophan, deputy commander-in-chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, to pledge enhanced collaboration between their armed forces.

Dong highlighted that the China-Cambodia friendship has continued to flourish, entering a new era characterized by high quality, high level, and high standard under the strategic guidance of both nations' leaders. Emphasizing the importance of their military cooperation, Dong called for deeper strategic communication, effective cooperation mechanisms, and improved quality and efficiency in their joint efforts to contribute to regional peace.

Mao Sophan reaffirmed Cambodia's unwavering commitment to the one-China principle and expressed readiness to work closely with the Chinese mainland to enhance practical cooperation and military exchanges. This commitment underscores Cambodia's dedication to fostering strong bilateral ties and promoting stability in the region.
