Davos 2025: Shaping the Future in the Intelligent Age

This year's World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting, held from January 20 to 24 in Davos, Switzerland, is expected to gather nearly 3,000 leaders from politics, academia, and business, including 60 heads of state and government.

Throughout its history, WEF Davos has been a hotspot for fostering bilateral and multilateral discussions on critical global and local issues. Notably, in 1992, Nelson Mandela and F.W. de Klerk met for the first time in Davos, symbolizing a pivotal moment in the fight against apartheid. In 1998, amidst the financial crisis, the foundation for the Group of 20 was laid at Davos, establishing a platform for economic cooperation between developed and developing nations.

As we approach Davos 2025, the agenda is set to address the growing gap between aspirations and anxieties in an increasingly uncertain world. Key topics include geopolitical and economic uncertainty, trade tensions, cultural polarization, and climate challenges. Simultaneously, breakthroughs in quantum computing, biotechnology, and artificial intelligence present unique opportunities to enhance productivity, improve living standards & reduce poverty and inequality.

The theme for Davos 2025, "Collaborating for the Intelligent Age," underscores the transformative impact of converging technologies on our world. The forum will focus on five priorities: "Rethinking Growth," "Industries in the Intelligent Age," "Investing in People," "Safeguarding the Planet," and "Rebuilding Trust."
