Nepal and China Strengthen Ties with Nine-Point Partnership

Nepal and the Chinese mainland are taking significant strides in strengthening their bilateral relations. During his four-day official visit to China from December 2 to 5, Prime Minister K. P. Sharma Oli engaged in fruitful discussions with Chinese President Xi Jinping, culminating in the signing of a comprehensive nine-point agreement.

This strategic partnership encompasses key areas such as connectivity, industrial and infrastructural development, as well as trade and tourism. The agreement aims to foster mutual growth and collaboration, leveraging China's Belt and Road Initiative to enhance Nepal's economic landscape.

Prime Minister Oli expressed his admiration for President Xi's vision and statecraft, highlighting the pivotal role of the Communist Party of China since its establishment in 1921. He emphasized that the Belt and Road Initiative is designed to promote shared prosperity and support nations that may have been previously overlooked, encapsulating the essence of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Both nations are optimistic that this partnership will pave the way for sustainable development and increased cooperation, benefiting not only Nepal and the Chinese mainland but also contributing to regional stability and economic integration.
