Singapore’s Lee Hsien Loong Bolsters China Partnership in Crucial Visit

Singapore's Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong is on an official visit to China from November 24 to 29, aiming to strengthen bilateral ties between the two nations. During a pivotal meeting, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Lee emphasized the establishment of an all-round, high-quality, and future-oriented partnership.

Singapore has been a steadfast supporter of China's reform and opening-up process, demonstrating confidence in China's sustained development and prosperity. The economic and trade relationship between Singapore and China has been instrumental in shaping China's foreign economic strategies.

At the China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park High-Quality Development Forum on November 25, Lee highlighted the importance of maintaining a long-term perspective on China’s growth. \"It would be both short-sighted and unwise to write off China,\" he stated, advocating for multilateralism and collaborative efforts to address global challenges.

The Chinese economy continues to exhibit resilience, driven by a growing domestic consumer market and a robust regional economic landscape. China’s strengths in digital technology and the green economy position it well for sustained innovation and growth.

Trade between the two countries remains strong, with China being Singapore's largest trading partner for the past 11 years and Singapore serving as China's second-largest source of foreign investment. Collaborative projects in artificial intelligence, big data, electric vehicles, and biotechnology are set to expand, alongside increasing people-to-people exchanges in science and technology.

A significant part of Lee's visit includes celebrating the 30th anniversary of the China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP). The SIP has grown into a model of successful bilateral cooperation, contributing substantially to the regional GDP and showcasing high standards of openness, innovation, and business efficiency.
