At the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE), Chinese Premier Li Qiang delivered a compelling keynote speech emphasizing China's unwavering commitment to high-level opening-up. Amidst rising protectionist sentiments and a sluggish global economy, the five-day event has become a beacon of international trade accessibility.
Historically, trade has been a crucial driver of exchanges between civilizations, and the CIIE continues to serve as an effective platform for promoting global commerce. Over its first six editions, the expo has facilitated intended transactions surpassing $420 billion, with more than 1,130 foreign enterprises and investment promotion organizations forging targeted connections across China.
This year marks a significant milestone as the CIIE welcomes a record-breaking 297 Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders. Additionally, 186 companies and organizations are participating for seven consecutive years, according to official data. The event has also attracted 39 government procurement delegations and four industry procurement delegations, totaling 780 trade sub-groups, setting a historic high.
