In a recent discussion with CMG's Zou Yun, Seychelles President Wavel Ramkalawan highlighted the strengthening ties between Seychelles and China. With tourism making up over 70% of Seychelles' GDP, the nation has been actively seeking to diversify its economy and build essential infrastructure.
Since establishing diplomatic relations with China on June 30, 1976, cooperation between the two countries has steadily increased. President Ramkalawan praised China's no-strings-attached assistance, emphasizing the positive impact of China's Belt and Road Initiative on the livelihoods of Seychellois people.
Looking ahead to the China-Africa Cooperation Forum scheduled to be held later this year in Beijing, Ramkalawan commended Chinese President Xi Jinping's global initiatives, noting that they effectively meet the world's current demands. The ongoing collaboration aims to further bolster Seychelles' economic resilience and infrastructural development.
