Paris 2024 has truly made a splash with its spectacular surfing events held on the magical island of Tahiti. The combination of perfect wave conditions and the passion of the athletes has captivated billions of viewers worldwide.

One of the standout moments was Brazilian star Gabriel Medina's iconic performance, where he soared through the air alongside his board, creating an unforgettable image of the Games.

The journey began with the confirmation that the village of Teahupo'o in French Polynesia would host Olympic surfing, a dream come true for surfers globally. The legendary waves of Teahupo'o have now become the stage for some of the most thrilling competitions in the sport's history.

Compared to the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, which was marked by the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Paris 2024 offers a different and vibrant atmosphere. This year, the event has seen an increase in participation, with 48 surfers from 21 nations competing—24 women and 24 men—highlighting the sport's growing international appeal.

Among the new faces is China's teenage surfing sensation, Yang Siqi, only 15 years old. Her remarkable talent and determination have already made her a standout athlete, promising a bright future in Olympic surfing.

As surfing continues to evolve and attract top-class athletes from around the world, Paris 2024 is setting the stage for inspiring performances and the next generation of surfing champions.
