This year marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and the Republic of the Congo, also known as Congo-Brazzaville. Over the past six decades, President Denis Sassou Nguesso has made 16 visits to China, witnessing dramatic transformations both within China and his own country.
In an exclusive episode of Leaders Talk, CMG's He Yanke sat down with President Sassou in Brazzaville to discuss the enduring strength of the bilateral relationship. President Sassou shared his priorities for the Republic of the Congo and his aspirations for the African continent as a whole.
Addressing unfounded accusations of \"neo-colonialism,\" President Sassou praised China-Africa cooperation for bringing developmental opportunities to the 600 million Africans across the continent lacking electricity. He highlighted the significant changes brought by China's construction of the No.1 National Highway in Congo.
President Sassou also expressed his admiration for China's leader Xi Jinping, describing him as a visionary who sets an example for all countries in the Global South.
