Young Americans Largely Disapprove of Biden’s Israel-Gaza Crisis Response

U.S. President Joe Biden entered the Christmas weekend facing significant unpopularity among American voters. Recent polls from The New York Times and Siena College reveal that over 55 percent of Americans view Biden unfavorably.

The situation worsened post-Christmas, especially among younger demographics. A majority of individuals aged 18 to 29 disapprove of Biden's handling of the ongoing Israel-Gaza crisis, with 72 percent expressing dissatisfaction compared to only 20 percent approving of his actions.

A closer look at the young voters' perspectives shows that 27 percent support Israel, while 46 percent align with the Palestinians, highlighting a strong inclination towards the latter.

Time magazine characterized Biden as potentially \"the most pro-Israel president in American history,\" noting his emotional solidarity with Israel, expedited military assistance, and his role in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's war cabinet during his visit to Israel.

Adding to the criticism, more than 500 U.S. officials signed a letter condemning Biden's initial response to the conflict and its resulting humanitarian impact. The response from young voters indicates a growing sentiment that Biden may be out of touch with their views, echoing the description of his approach as \"tone deaf.\"
