Russian PM Mishustin Visits China to Enhance Sino-Russian Cooperation

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin recently embarked on a significant visit to China, aiming to strengthen the robust Sino-Russian relationship. This visit took place on the sidelines of the 22nd Meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in October.

During his time in China, Mishustin emphasized the commitment to scaling cooperation across various sectors, including economy, trade, energy, and connectivity. This aligns with the objectives of the 28th regular meeting between the respective heads of government, a crucial platform established since 1996 to assess and coordinate bilateral cooperation.

The Sino-Russian partnership is often described as a \"new model of major-country relations,\" serving as a cornerstone for global stability. Mishustin highlighted the importance of military-to-military contacts, which focus on regional security and conflict resolution, while also supporting multilateral peace initiatives at the United Nations, the SCO, and BRICS.

High-level exchanges between the ruling parties of Russia and China continue to grow, as demonstrated by last month's dialogue mechanism meeting. Through the engagement of special committees, friendship groups, and regular meeting frameworks, China and Russia maintain a strong consensus to bolster comprehensive cooperation at both national and sub-national levels.

This ongoing collaboration underscores the dedication of both nations to fostering a stable and cooperative global environment.
