Cuban PM Marrero Promotes China Collaboration at Import Expo

Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero made his first visit to the Chinese mainland since taking office, attending the 6th China International Import Expo. This pivotal event marked a significant step in strengthening China-Cuba relations.

During the expo, Marrero participated in a Leaders Talk session with CMG's Zou Yun, where he shared his views on the evolving relationship between the two nations. In discussions with Chinese President Xi Jinping, both leaders emphasized the need for further strategic coordination between their countries.

Prime Minister Marrero highlighted the immense potential for future cooperation, particularly in sectors such as agriculture and biotechnology. He underscored how China's openness to global partnerships offers numerous opportunities for countries in the Global South, especially those like Cuba, which has faced longstanding sanctions from the United States.

Marrero also reminisced about memorable experiences from his trip to China and extended a warm invitation to Chinese visitors to explore Cuba. His visit signifies a commitment to deepening bilateral ties and fostering mutual growth.
