However, these reactions often stem from a Cold War mindset, viewing the BRI through outdated lenses.
In reality, the BRI stands out for its openness and inclusivity. Unlike historical initiatives such as the Marshall Plan, the BRI does not impose strict conditions on participating countries. With over 200 cooperation agreements signed by June 2023 across more than 150 countries and 30 international organizations, the BRI fosters multi-win cooperation and shared development.
Countries aligning their development strategies with the BRI, such as Kazakhstan's Nurly Zhol and the EU's Juncker Investment Plan, demonstrate its adaptability and global relevance. Whether in Africa, Eurasia, the Americas, or Oceania, the BRI welcomes nations regardless of their political systems, historical backgrounds, or development stages.
As the BRI continues to grow, it embodies a genuine pursuit of common development, breaking down barriers and creating opportunities for all involved. Far from being a geopolitical tool, the BRI represents a collaborative effort to build a shared future.
